Just finished a baby sweater set for Nora, soon-to-be-adopted daughter of our cousin Alex and his husband Ricky. We're thrilled -- and nervous -- for them, hoping all goes as planned. These are amazing, changing times!

I love the pattern and the color! Where is the pattern from? It seems like babies are popping out all over around here and I'd love to try to make that set as a gift.

Well done! I appreciate that you deviated from the traditional colours used in baby clothes. I've never had a reason to knit baby or children's items, but they are so adorable!! Perhaps I should knit them and donate to a hospital or charity...something to consider. Thanks for sharing.

That's beautiful!! I've done a few like that with the seed stitch borders and collar and raglan sleeves. I love it! Baby sweaters are so fun! You did a spectacular job! Congrats!!
Excellent baby set, good
Excellent baby set, good work John. Fortunate child to be so thought of.

She's coming to a family full of love and caring...how wonderful!

What a beautiful set and such a nice gift. I love the fact that there is a hat and booties to go with the sweater.

Very nice set, John. I like the thought of a new baby dressed up in matching sweater, hat and booties. I'm heading into the last stages of a sweater for my great-grandniece, who turned a year old in October. Lovely pale lavender. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Excellent work! I love the cobalt blue. What yarn did you use, and what is your opinion of it?
Color in photo a little off;
Color in photo a little off; it's actually a blue/green teal. Yarn is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (55% Merino Wool, 33% Microfiber, 12% Cashmere) and it's washable. Nice to work with -- though the twist of the yarn causes the "knit-side" Vs to be lopsided. Like the finished garment -- as do the daddies.
I know lots of people don't
I know lots of people don't like the look you refer too on the Vs. I, myself, love the look and therefor use Brown Sheep's Lambs Pride and other singles as much as possible. I've also noticed that many of the multi-strand merino/merino blends have the same effect. To each their own.
Thanks, John.
Thanks, John.
