I finally finished a jacket that I've been working on for three years. I don't like stranded knitting--I'm slow, dropping the yarn and picking up the other one rather than two handed. Anyway, I kept putting this project down but decided I had to finish it this winter. So over a five day vacation from work in January, I finished it.
I also had avoided finishing it because it had button band, button holes and buttons, which I had not done.
So simple once I just did it. Ha! Now I want to try a zipper.

That's kind of REALLY cool.
That's kind of REALLY cool. It reminds me of the knit jackets in my 1960's McCall's knit magazine collection. Is it a vintage pattern?
The pattern for the jacket
The pattern for the jacket came from the book *Nancy Vale's Knitwear*.
Published in 1983 by Ballantine Books. It has some interesting patterns with textured knitting that would still be stylish for today, but a lot of "picture" color knitting in one section that definitely was an '80s thing.

A most lovely jacket. You
A most lovely jacket. You did a great job, especially since it was one of those "on and off" projects. Brave you, for considering a zipper. I get a headache just thinking about it. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
