I am very excited. I finished a scarf this weekend for a dear friend; I hope she likes it. I have to say, it was an easy knit. I used size 50 needles. It took about 3 hours total. I am enjoying a sense of completion.
Thanks for all the congratulations. I am working on a hat for my dad and a scarf for a friend. These projects are on smaller needles. I seem to get inspired so easily . . . It's the finishing I am having trouble with! I found a great app for my iPhone that helps me with "project management."
As a knitter who almost always gifts the things I create, I must say that the joy of giving is almost as great as creating. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
Congratulations! I've always been a fan of using thick yarn and big needles... they're GREAT for quick last minute gifts... I just don't tell the recipients that!
I can relate. I'm a new knitter too and was kind of blown away when I first made something. I'd never done anything like that. It changed/is changing my idea of who I think I am.
