I've been practicing stranded knitting. I can't throw worth a damn, so I've been teaching myself to hold both colors in my left hand. This was fun and worked up really fast. Pattern available on Ravelry for anyone interested.

The hat does look awesome. I just finished the faux fair isle hat (pattern also on Ravelry). Check it out if you want to do another slightly easier colorful hat before undertaking an actual fair isle pattern.

The hat came out great! Very

The hat came out great! Very even and crisp. Colorwork can be dicey. I find it easiest to do two-handed, but when it decreases to small diameter requiring dpns, two circs or magic loop, then two-handed is awkward. When I do one-handed with either left or right I find that the color not being knit pulls out too much slack and I have to stop and adjust it. No perfect system I guess.

Wow Stephen...your hat came out exceptionally well. It looks like you've been doing stranded knitting for decades. You have a nice relaxed and even stitch and at the same time the design is crisp and stands out strongly.

I really need to learn to loosen up when I knit!
