Wow....nice hats. I hope to do some as nice. Just finished a favorite pattern in NORO Kureyon that took me 3 weeks to knit as I had to rip out several times. It was worth it, though. Nice hat and the colors match those of friend's tortoiseshell moggies. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
What's a "moggie"?

Thanks for replying,
Thanks for replying, knitmaniac. I deliberately used that British term in hopes someone would ask. I learned it many years ago and it is my favorite way to describe cats...especially the tortoiseshells I referenced. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Wicked cool hats. I would love patterns for most of those.

I especially like this one.

Those look fantastic. I like the shallowness of them and the rich, tweedy colors!
If some sissy tried to kick my ass I would say, "Hey, Mary, go knit me a sweater before I slap you in the face!”

I used a selection of fine yarns , probably lace weight and 4 ply in a selection of colours that I have built up over many years, I think the thing that holds them together is that I nearly always use a very very thin and fine lambswool yarn in cream as well, I find it gives a better balance and helps the other colours work well, I normally wind the yarns together first ( but not always!) I have bags and bags of odd balls and I pick the colours for each project, usually by scattering lots of htem on the floor and picking out the ones I like best!!
