Is "pugly" an insult? An adverb?

A few months ago, a friend emailed me a picture of a knitted pug and asked if I could make some for him. He tends to be a smart-ass and I thought he was kidding. But I wrote back saying "Sure, how many do you want?", thinking I was being equally smart-assed. He replied "Three, please."

Lesson 1: E-mail is not the most effective means of conveying sarcasm (or sincerity, for that matter).

So I found the pattern on Ravelry (it's called "Wasabi, the gregarious pug") and here are the results.

Lesson 2: Pug owners are a fervent and devout lot.

They are sorta cute...and I'm not fond of pugs. The nice thing is that these little pups are easy to housebreak. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
