This is an odd predicament. I finished all of my holiday knitting, and I have not yet begun the knit along project scheduled to begin next week, so I have absolutely no projects on needles. I am not sure how long I can last in this condition. I feel that I will be giving in soon. There is that cabled blanket I have been thinking about...

I was in that situation not long ago. It felt weird.
At the moment I've got a pair of socks on one needles (and outstanding promises for 2 more pairs to follow), a knit knitting bag on another pair. I'm gathering supplies for the KAL that starts in January, and had to slap my own hand to keep from signing up for another KAL that starts in a few days. With everything else in my January-February schedule, taking on a 4th knitting project would have made me grumpy.

I am down to the wire on a "Bigfoot" shawl by Alison Jeppson Hyde. I just tied in the next to last skein of Malabrigo. I am knitting it up on # 10's. Then back to finishing up "Frost Flowers". This has been languishing on the back of the table since September. I need to get back to completing this before casting on something new. And, on top of all of this I am needing to pack up everything because I need to move by the end of January. The landlord is having financial problems and, has decided to move back into the apartment/condo that I have been renting for the last year. Knitting lace keeps everything in perspective in the middle of chaos.

Man, I had the exact same reaction. This poor, confused soul is announcing to the world that he is (temporarily at least) a non-knitting knitter! Makes me want to stage some kind of intervention. If I lived in the neighborhood I think I’d put a half-finished project on his front porch, ring the bell and then hide.
I truly just do not
I truly just do not understand the concept of nothing on the needles.
I'll say a prayer.

Oh, be very careful with that situation. The universe abhors idle needles. I, personally, would cut you some slack. But there's no telling what the universe will do.
