When I look at the September date of my last post, I realize that life has taken over from blogging and reading other people's blogs. Lots has been going on here and I've missed so much. I really must work on coming to this site at least twice a week.

On my personal blog, I've got lots of FOs you can see scarves (with accompanying patterns), socks, toques, etc. I'm almost all ready for the holidays.

To toot my own horn, I was just interviewed by a Chilean knitting forum about men who knit. If you read Spanish, you can check it out at

I've started a third scarf as a gift; one of the many I hope to churn out by December. It's Sept now, so I hope it's okay to bring up the holidays amongst the guys here. See my blog for a pix.

2 out of 5 scarves for the Christmas list are now done. This one was fun because of the combinations of odds and ends from my until-now-untouched 10 year old stash.

I'm trying something new (to me). I've cast on enough stitches to make a scarf, but lengthwise, with scrap yarn. I'm knitting half of the width and casting off. Then I'm knitting up the cast on stitches and going in the other direction. It's a shell-like lace pattern so the pull of the different angles is creating an interesting effect.
