This project is inspired by the "Barn Raising Quilt" project from http://knitalong.net/?page_id=35.

Well, it's been one year and one month since I started and a few weeks since I finished this.

I experimented on something I'd been wanting to try for a while. I was in the Peace Corps in the Central African Republic years ago.

I got the idea for this from Barbara Walker's "A Fourth Treasury of Knitting Patterns" (see page 127). The lace pattern is number 33 on page 117.

So about three weeks ago I find this baby chihuahua running down one of Denver's busiest downtown streets. Nobody around claimed him so I brought him home.

So the pattern for the geometric squares blanket that I did a few months ago called for much more yarn than needed.

If you remember Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure, you might remember the scene where he's going over all the "evidence" in his basement. Here's a clip taken to the extreme!!

I had quite a bit of left-over yarn, so I made up this little hat to go with the blanket. There was no pattern so I just matched some of the patterns in the blanket itself.

Finally, it's done!

Three squares down and six to go. The other six will be these three twice again to make a nice 3X3 square blanket with a blue border.
