Today, I have begun the unexpected. Much like the Donner Party, I'm unsure of the path and winter might set in before I'm done. Yes, that's right, I'm knitting in two colors!! I'm not really sure if I'm doing this the right way, but I'm going to forge ahead. Basically I finish a color, cut it off the ball leaving a 6" tail, and start with the next color. Repeat as needed. I'll then take a crochet hook and weave the loose ends in. Any thoughts on knitting in two colors would be appreciated!
So I have begun knitting a hat. Luckily it is knitted flat and sewn together, as I have not quite yet mastered casting onto double pointed needles. I'm really liking the way that it is turning out so far. It is in a k2, p2 rib and it is just fantastic. Just wanted to share. Hope everyone is doing well. For all you new members out there, please tell us all something about yourself--especially where you're from!!
So I have done it! I have finished my first project. It is a scarf, and while it is much too small for me, I have come up with a solution...give it to a small person! The singer in my in my band, Cotton Candy, had a baby last year. Since Heidi wears the brightest colors known to science, I thought it only fitting for her daughter to sport my mini-orange/fushia ribbed scarf. Now on to 2 new projects, a combination mitten/sleeve and a darling hat. See you boys tonight!!
So here I finally have a couple of pics of my current project. The yarn is really nice because of the color variations. I too have been purling incorrectly, so I am VERY curious as to what this bastardized mystery stich is! It's been a lot of fun to see this project grow. I'm almost done with the ball of yarn, and it's just been over 48 hours!
