So what have I been up to?

Not that much, knitting-wise. I've been working on a few projects that have stretched out for a few months. I recently saw the "Hibernation" category on Ravelry projects page and thought it appropriate.

Anyone else notice this?

Yesterday, I logged into MWK and it came up with a bright red border and lettering in the format. No profile photos and the member count and Shout box weren't visible. Everything else was there even though you had to look at the linkups to find them.

Finished socks / Next project

As part of a "March Madness" challenge on a Ravelry group I belong to, we were to pick 3 projects to accomplish during March. Mine were: 1) The Skype beanie. 2) Finish the "Spiraling Purl" socks. 3) Begin a new project with the 2nd skein of yarn used for the socks.

Finished hat.

I finished the hat last night and worked in the ends so that it is reversible. I'm very pleased with how it knit up and it serves to keep the Wyoming wind off my head.

The first sock was finished last week and 10 rounds of ribbing are knit on the second. The colorway is more impressive in the skein but the final results are nice enough that a trip to the frog pond isn't necessary.

Latest projects

Here's a hat I'm knitting with my friend, Luke. He's much further than I am but I'm not letting that bother me. I really like the interior texture; it may become the outside once the hat is finished. The yarn is from Mountain Meadows mill, here in Wyoming.

Now with pictures

I finally figured out how to work the card reader and memory card for my camera. [A greatly appreciated gift from Quinton, as you may recall.]

Happy Holidays

To all my dear friends and fellow MWKers -

May you all have many Blessings through this Holiday Season and the coming New Year. Whether you celebrate the Solstice [like me], Christmas, Hanukkah [which was early this year], Kwanzaa, New Year, Lunar New Year or whichever and whatever your heart desires - or even not at all - I wish you Peace and Happiness in the time ahead.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all the fellows here at MWK. I hope you all have a great day and can spend time with good friends and/or family.

As for being thankful: I'm taking a cue from the homework a friend's daughters had to complete and making a list of some knitting related things I'm grateful about -

"afghan" = bedspread

A few days ago, I mentioned an afghan that became a bedspread as part of my comment on Quinton's excellent post about how to say "No" when asked to knit something.

Nehkhasi said he'd like to read about it...so, my friend, this is for you:
