Well my old red hat finally died so I thought I would have a go at knitting a new one :) My first hat and the first time on a circular needle and double pointeds.
Well I finished my Angora shawl. The very first thing I made entirely with my own handspun Angora fibre, the real reason I learned how to knit.
Crikey , I dont do things by half. Finished the undulating scarf, was fun and taught me a lot.
Well I am having to spin more and more Angora for the shawl, its going to be quite a big project so hopefully I will be finished in time for the show in the first week of September.
Well I spun my Angora as planned. Two singles using a handful of white, then gold, then chocolate, then smoke. Then I plied the two singles together. Hmm not too pleased with it to be honest.
Well finally got a chance to use my new Drum Carder.. wasn't really sure what I was doing but fortunately there are some great videos on youtube by a lady called Rexenne..
Wahoo I finished my first piece of knitting ever. Although this is the second piece I started it is actually the first piece to be "bound off".
Well thanks for your comments guys, I can see that this site is going to be incredibly useful and supportive over the coming months. Just a word then on the Angoras.
Well what a find ! just when I was feeling decidedly odd having picked up some knitting needles I found this site !
