I'm new to this site, so if I make a mistake please correct me.

I am part of a knit/crochet group in Harlem, New York. The members there are friendly, artistic, and sharing. Saturday I witnessed how a man and little girl were welcomed, and taught to knit.

Channel Island cast on. I love the loose sloppieness of it - reminds me if a deckled edge on rag paper. It will probably evenout a bit after blocking but I hope not too much. It did take me a while to get the hang of it but after watching the YouTube vidio about sixty times it finally clicked. It's pretty much fun once you get the hang of it.

What fun watching the games and knitting away......

Finally finished this piece for an August birthday gift for my 15-year-old niece. She loves pink and has a summer birthday. When I ran across this pattern, it made me think of a slice of watermelon. I hope she likes it.

Hello fellow MWK,

My friend Allyson's birthday is next week and these are for her fresh of the needles and blocking, as you can tell. I have to say that with this particular color way of Zauberball Crazy there doesn’t seem to be a way to get a pair of socks out of one skein that look even remotely alike.

So, believe it or not, in all the other hectic craziness that has been my life the last bit (I think an insane part of my brain likes it like that), I have in fact been knitting.

I got these done for myself, which I am loving.

I decided to take up knitting and wanted to start slow, and although I have bought Stephen Wests Old Forge to make, I decided to make a few things like kids toys etc. However I thought enough of the kids things, and made this, my first ever hat.

Another great time was had by all who attended this year's Retreat. It was a smaller group than last year - 13 vs. 20 - but the company and camaraderie were in no way diminished. We had a long field trip on Friday but the gorgeous scenery of Rocky Mountain National Park and other areas of Colorado when we took various breaks more than made up for it.
