One evening last summer as the fog got sucked in, thick and cold, through the Golden Gate and the foghorns bellowed low and stubbornly into the oncoming mist like giant, 3-story cows in the distance, I picked up some jute gardening twine from deep in my stash and started double-knitting this rug.
I have complete the Horseshoe Cap design by Janet Wray with the fibre I received at the Guilds Christmas Gift Exchange. If you are interested there is more on this at my blog. http://linens2lace.blogspot.com/2012/01/knitting-patterns-charts-vs-written.html

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday!

Dear fellow knitters,
Happy new year to you all from London.
It seems that Quinton has done better than me on the knitted gift front - my Dad'd jumper never even made it onto the needles, let alone off. Although I did finish a felted reindeer table mat (!!!!!) and a cable hat...

I do. Last year for my birthday the kids bought me a spinning wheel. And a lovely wheel it is, despite it's layer of dust. So, this year, I resolve to pull the spinning wheel back out, dusting her off and learning more about spinning. Someday I hope to have an addiciton to my own hand spun and died yarns in addition to all the other stuff I tend to buy.
