i have yarn that i got from a friend that's very nice. it's a multi-color yarn that was hand-dyed. i want to make a scarf out of it. i found a pattern that i liked, so when i knitted about 2 inches, the pattern was there, but it was covered up by the busy-ness of the randomized color patterns.

I am currently working on a pair of children's socks. The pattern is a Lion Brand's Wool-Ease, #70480A.

According to the instructions for shaping the heel it states, (19 stitches on needle)
(WS) P18 sts, SW next st, turn
I would do this having 1 st less on each row and continue until 10 stitches have been work.

Then I would add stitches back on needle as follow

After attending a Sally Melville class 2 weeks ago, I decided to try my hand at a Fair Isle cap pattern I have had for years. I finished it last night. I love it and hope to do another color work project really soon. Enjoy the picture!

I FINALLY finished the edging on my Juneberry and blocked it yesterday afternoon. I used a worsted weight merino/baby alpaca/silk blend and size 5.5 mm needles. It's HUGE! It measures about 68" X 42". I think I blocked it a little too harshly, actually. The only modifications I made were to the edging.

Started a shawl on friday - but in CROCHET; finished it last night and it was ALMOST dry this am. Pictures to follow.

It's a simple shawl to be used for the Dickens Festival I work in the winter.

Next up - the 18 foot scarf for the new "medical student" who has joined the cast.

It's finally finished! I have been knitting this afghan for seven months and have learned so much...especially about unknitting and going back and fixing the odd stitch several rows down. You will have to excuse how bad I look in the picture, but I wanted to show how nicely the afghan molds to what is underneath it. The finished size is 48" x 60".

It seems as though I plan things at the last minute. In March I took a cruise, book the cruise, flight, hotel and made plans for the dogs, cat and house all with 20 days to departure. Now last week I talked to my partner of 12 ½ years and thought that we should get married to make everything legal.

I am using this afghan as a "holdoff" project hoping that by the time I am finished with it I will have worked up the courage to try to knit myself a sweater. A cabled fisherman type would be very cool.
