Have been knitting for three weeks now and on my fourth hat. Didn't know a thing about knitting, so went on You Tube and found some basic videos and got started. Which led me to Knit Picks. Which led me to this web page. Nice to know other men who knit, and are willing to help others. Been quilting for ten years and time to start something new, knitting is it.

I just discovered this cast on the a few days ago. It's used for toe up socks. As I am not a sock knitter (yet) it's totally new to me. It looks like a great provisional cast on. Has anyone used it for anything other than socks?

Here's the latest project I've been working on. I decided to use Knit Picks Chroma yarn instead of Noro. The colors I chose for this scarf are Bittersweet Heather and Pool Party. Nothing spectacular but I like it.

As some of you may recall, I wondered - in an earlier post - if Cat Bordhi was inspired by my twisted heel stitches when she published a pattern that also used them.

I finished knitting my cowl scarf tonight and blocked it. The scarf is drying now.

I just can't seem to stop knitting lace. This is my latest. I call it Leaf and Acorn Stole. This summer, I came across the acorn and leaf pattern. It's an edging pattern from 1891 and it begged me to make it into something fun. So, here is my take on it.
