I bought Dennis (my partner) a metal detector for Christmas last year and he has been happily digging up our yard all summer. Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day, the last weekend of summer.

I realize that I have only knitted about two inches, but this is exciting for me. After all this time making an endless series of scarves, and one sock...I have made a second hat.

working sweater from top down in one piece that is open in front (so not in round). i've been increasing at seams and started increasing for neck edge.

I am such a newb, I did not realize how unusual a thing I did was.

Just wanted to say a big hello after nearly 2 weeks of not reading your posts on MWK. I was having some withdrawal issues!

Browsing through Friday's local paper I came across an ad for "12th Annual Michigan International Alpaca Fest". It's open 9/20-21 at the Birch Run Expo Center and it's "FREE!!

So this is how far I have gotten on the hat. It is driving me crazy, I have been stressed recently, making my stitches way too tight.

What a great experience it has been to make my own socks. I had to modified the original pattern a bit, just because it is a bigger pattern.

I ran across an interesting piece of animation on YouTube today that uses knitted panels to tell its story.
