well, it took me long enough to get about posting something.  this is just a brief intro and "howdy".  i found the website after a google search and thought i'd sign up.  i'm an intermittant knitter that started about 5 months ago to stop smoking.  it's helped a little but i can't knit and drive at the same time so........

i get most of my knitting done at work while i'm waiting on a reaction to incubate or while i'm on my lunch/dinner break. 

current WIP: one of those Doctor-Who style scarves.   i had some ambitions for this thing but the yarn is this acrylicy stuff (*first time i've used a 100% synthetic) that i've developed a love-hate relationship with.  it is squeaky and seems to bite the needles.....and it is soooo slow.  i ditched the idea of doing the scarf in a honeycomb pattern and went with a simple garter stitch.  the yarn is pretty, tho.  and cheap (*$1.87/skein).   at the rate i'm going, it'll be finished by mid summer (*gawd, i hope i'm just kidding!*)
