I Scarf I made up using an elongated Chevron stitch pattern...Reckon it has a nice masculine quality about the pattern
It all started last October during the World Series between the Cardinals and the Rangers. Ralf and I were in San Maguel, Mexico and made sure we were back at the condo every day by game time. It was huge fun listening to the announcers in Spanish and watchnng our team win - we're both native Saint Louisans so you can guess which team that was. Suddenly I was hooked.
Okay so I recently picked up my crochet hook again and started playing around with stuff, and this time it finally stuck. It's like something clicked in my head and I really began to understand how it all goes together, and how the different stitches work etc. So I decided to crochet something "big", but relatively simple.
The Joann near me in Columbus, OH is having a 50% off clearance prices sale right now.
I got wools, sock, and bamboo yarn and rosewood needles for really cheap (see pic).
I spent $43.00 on nearly $150.00 worth of stuff.
I think all Joanns might be doing it to refresh their stock. Check your local one out.
So, after a particularly bad experience with someone, I discovered that besides leaving me emotionally depleted and having my trust in people damaged, I have lost whatever it is that fuels my desire to knit. It's been 2 months and I just can't bring myself to pick up my needles at all and work on anything.
Last week, on our regular spinning day, I took the day off work so that I could enjoy our year-end outing. The ladies usually like to plan a little trip somewhere to spin and have lunch. This year, we travelled about an hour south of the city to a small farm of a lady that is also a spinner. It was a lovely day, with sunshine and gorgeous blue skies! We haven't seen that for ever so long.
Can anyone help me with doubling a pattern? I want to use up a ton of scrap yarn! The pattern says to cast on 137 stitches with the first and last 4 stitches being in seed stitch. I know this forms the seed stitch border. The zigzag pattern is 16 + 1.. I want to cast on 274 stitches. And double the border from 4 to 8 stitches. My concern is the zigzag pattern that is in between the border?
Okay so this is my first time back on here in a while (well over a year I believe), but I've been knitting strong all the time. I'll actually need to take some photos of some of the work I've done. I've come on really well as a knitter and I've recently started crocheting. So, why am I back? Well, one word; sanity!
As I was finishing this first panel, I had another idea for the opposite panel pop up in my head. It would take some work to plan, but I think it would make the tote a little more fun. So I'm debating what to do. But here is a photo of the now-completed "face" of the tote.
