So on Tuesday I went to my very first knitters/crocheters group meeting and I had a positive experience. Sadly I was the only male there. If I hadn't told a friend about it, I would have been the youngest person too. Everyone there was very friendly and inviting. I blew their mind when I revealed that I was both a knitter and a crocheter.

I am a newbie to knitting. Would love to find a local knitting group in LA. I am in Culver City so anything in West LA would be appreciated.

Is this colorful or what? While certainly not colors I would have chosen my son & daughter-in-law picked these for me to use to knit this blanket.

Hello all.
Am working with a LYS to investigate and maybe form a men's knitting group in my area.
We currently have a group called Pints and Purls that meets at the local brewpub on monday nights to well have some pints and purls. We have seen a few guys show up now and again. Sometimes they are just come alongs with their wifves/girlfriends etc.

After feeling like my knitting projects are taking forever to finish, I decided to take a few days off to do a fun crochet project. I made a puppy beanie for my 6 month old nephew. The project took a few hours, less than a day if I would have worked on it without stopping. I've had a lot of rave reviews (and a few requests as usual).

I have heard much about Signature Needles and would like to ask you guys your opinions. I am interested in a set of 5 sock needles and realize I have a choice of length and also of the type of point. Have you used them? Do you know anyone who has?
OR - what kind of needles do you use. I have tried 3 different kinds of wooden needles and do not like them.
My lace knitting journey continues. I finished the caps and blogged about it. Thought I might give them as gifts but then decided to keep them. Now I've actually moved on to knitting a cardigan. The pattern is Kelmscott by Carol of Sunday knits. The yarn recommended is of course one of the reasons I chose this pattern. It is an angora/merino blend, which is pretty much all I do in handspun.

Dear friends,

This appeared in yesterday's "Zaman" newspaper. Interesting that it was considered unusual enough to make the news. :)

Well Guys I did it, I started my own blog. Take a look at it and join. It is for those of us who use knitting boards, Knifty Knitters and circular knitting machines. http://fibergadgetguy.blogspot.com/ It is nothing fancy but just a little part of the internet to call my own.
