Bob and I hit the road this last week for a mad dash through Colorado and New Mexico to hit some of national parks and see the Taos New Mexico Wool and Fiber Festival. Enough of that though, here I will just discuss the knitting I did on the road. Sorry, I can't imagine you all want to see my slide show of Carlsbad Caverns and what not... But if you do, you can see all that useless crap at
Sometime early this year, I found a bag with three large balls of yarn at a second hand shop. This was most unusual -- normally, there are only odd balls left over from a project. But this was an entire kit, complete with instructions, and about 6" of it started, with the cable needle still in the stitches. Yesterday was cold and damp in St. Louis. Wife out of town visiting the new grandson this past week so I spent the day at the yarn shop knitting in the company of friends. Had a most frustrating evening last night. I finally made it to the toe of the sock I've been struggling to finish, trying it on to check the fit.
Then, taking it off, the cast on edge snapped.
Not figuring out any way to repair it, I frogged almost 2 1/2 months of intermittent knitting; washed the resulting skein, and plan to rewind it so as to start all over again.
I've been working on a project all day today. What helps sick with an awful head cold. I think I did 5 rows at frog a row
