After about two and a half weeks of working on this cowl I finished all the stitching and had only two things left to do. 1. Pick up the provisional cast on stitches and 2. graft the two ends together. Well, I started the project with a 2x2 rib knit and did not pick up the stitches correctly.

Years ago when i first started knitting I found it to be most default often losing count of vary simple pattern repeat like in a rib stitch. At the time I did not know why but it frustrated me to no end and was one of the reasons I gave up on knitting.

Hi. Happy New Year. Hope all of you had a good holiday. On Monday, I start Prosthetic Technician classes at the local community college. Knitting will take a back seat to my school work and new training. I have to put the yarn physically out of reach. There are about half a dozen things I'd like to knit and techniques to learn and practice.
Hi everyone,

Came across this three day conference in Santa Clara, CA feb 23-26. Anyone know anything about it? Anyone going?

Hi guys,
After tinking my last scarf...i got the idea to work with different color combination. Since my project has been with one color. So I took on the challenge and with a suggestion from a fellow MWK member, Mark, I set out on an attempt to learn Intarsia. I made a small swatch but I think I have raised my skill level a half notch or so... :-)

I've knitted a few items that have turned out pretty good but I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't mastered the basic beanie. Since my formal instruction consisted of "measure head, cast on, knit, decrease at the crown" I think I may have missed a trick or two. I've searched through patterns too, but still wasn't trusting them to give me what I want.

Hello to all and a happy new year!
Is there a place where men meet to knit and chat as so many women do? We live in Upper Bucks County, Pa.

I just wanted to say a quick "hello" to everyone out there. I ran into this site a few weeks ago and enjoyed reading everyone's posts so much that I just HAD to join. I've been knitting on and off since I was about 7 years old and crocheting on and off since I was about 17 (more 'off' than 'on' so I'm still a novice at both arts lol).
