Recently there was in interest in the lopi sweater featured in a book by handknitting.com in Lopi Book 31, #13.
I think it was Trevor who wanted to know if he could get the book/pattern mailed to his region of New Zealand. Sorry, Trevor if I have mixed you up with someone else.

I just thought I'd check in and let you know that I'm still alive. I've been keeping up to date with all of your busy creativity over the last while but things have been busy and hectic and I haven't had the space to say hello - so I thought it was time.

Gentlemen --

I am part of a group offering support to people with Amniotic Banding Syndrome (which I also have). It means that we have either missing or little fingers or no hand at all.

Folks in that group are looking for people to make custom mittens and gloves for hands with different number and sizes of fingers.

I'm really pleased with my latest design in Love of Knitting Winter 2012. They did a great job picking the model and styling the photo. You'll see the back in the second image, which reverses the mosaic and striped sections from the front, and adds a white stripe across the center of the black section to mirror the white section with black stripe.

I have been spinning most of the spring and summer (is it fall already?) and finally have some yarns plied.

This is some grey that was a Merino/silk blend. It was so much fun to spin, which is why I spent so much time doing it! It was prepared beautifully (which makes spinning so effortless) and it wanted to be a very fine yarn. I had no choice in the matter!

So, I've been working on this "Dragonfly" 75% Polworth 25% Silk blend that I purchased from Huckleberry Knits. I've been spinning it out quite thinly in hopes of making a three ply. It's been slow going and occasionally I feel some impatience at my slowness until the part that is just enjoying the process and finding peace in the treadling of my wheel takes back over and just enjoys it.
