My Kirchner nightmare

The shawl that I'm currently working is knit in two pieces and then joined in the center with the Kirchner (I'm never sure how to spell this word) stitch.

I finished these up about a week ago. They were originally intended for me, but I got lazy when knitting the foot and made it too short to fit my size 11 foot.
