Long time reader, first time poster. My Girlfriend got me into knitting when she decided I needed a healthy and constructive outlet for my holiday stress this past Christmas; as such I have been knitting since 12/28/06. I have completed some projects (http://www.flickr.com/photos/13403465@N00/sets/72157594525789008/) and would love some feed-back.
I am currently working on my first sock, and I have strategic yarn reserves that I have been coached to call my "stash".
I am glad to be here.
Knitting in the Bronx
does anyone know of a good child size cardigan/coat (for a girl) size 5/6 with a raglan sleeve? (knit in one piece from the bottom up would be RAD) - I was given the request by my Niece that she wants a pink coat knitted. -- the things we do for young'nz. Of course, she also wanted ribbon it (whatever that means) - maybe as the belt?
Guy's I have some horrible news. I came here to talk about it because I didn't know where else to go. I can't eat. I can't sleep. I'm breaking down into a critically unstable mess and I can't control myself. I have knititis and it's got me by the balls (no pun intended lol) in a bad but good way. It seems all I can think about is knitting. All I want to do is knit or crochet something. I called out sick to work all weekend because all I wanted to do was stay home comfortably perched on the couch wearing nothing but my boxers surrounded by my needles and boxes of yarn and that is exactly what I did. Please don't be sad for me because I am getting lots of work done. I don't know what brought on this illness but I'm having so much fun right now with my yarn addiction. YAY!
Does anyone have any experience with any knitting design software? I'm mainly looking for something to help with charting out color work for intarsia and fair isle.
I've found a neat little package that has a free demo, Stitch & Motif Maker, but $90 US seems kind of steep for what it does.
Does anyone know of any other options?
I will be visiting dc in the near future for a conference and was wondering if any one knows of any male owned yarn stores or if not where there are any yarn stores that will have me buying an extra piece of luggage to fly home. I know going to the nations capital with all the museums and I am worried about yarn :)
