Hello To whoever reads this...

 I am have been knitting now for nearly two years as one of my hobbies. I do not know many patterns to Knit as of right now, but I do make great scarfs and dish clothes.

Some may ask how I found out about this page... Well to tell the truth my mom found out about it from the priest at her chruch who is also a knitter and told her about this site...

I'm still plugging away at the Leo's sweater pattern from knitty.com.  It's taken me quite some time to get as far as I have.  Not only am I a slow knitter, and don't have time to knit every day, but I have been taking breaks from it to work on smaller things too.  I'm also taking my time with this project because it's not for me and I want it to be as close to perfect as possible.   

I've been bothered by the bright silver finish on the Addi turbo needles...it's blinding to my old eyes... searched and found a product that turns them charcoal grey! ...it's a liquid called "Blacken it" used to antique model trains and tracks. Got it from Micromark.. www.micromark.com. I just cleaned the turbo needles to get rid of finger grease...and dipped them in the bottle...then rinsed. ...they're now a warm charcoal grey colour. it doesn't rub off or stain... Bill

Thought I would post this article I came across online- seems a UK art student knitted a full size ferrari for her honors degree.  The artist is quoted as saying:

           “I get men admiring the racing lines and old women look at the needlework.” 

How sexist -- and look at those crummy seams down the middle of her windows :)

Wow! ...looking at that bar chart is going to become annoying for the next few days... LOL

....  I need some opinions from those that have come before me.

I am finishing up a pair of clogs for Jim and the size if pretty straightforward, size 11.  I am about to start a pair for his mom who is a size 8.5.  The pattern is written for a womens size 6, 8, and 10.

My question is, do I knit a size 8 and felt it less producing a softer fabric or do I go for a 10 and felt it more for a stiffer one.  (and I have already thought of the "go for the stiffer one" joke).  I'm using Classic Elites' "Inca Alpaca" (100% alpaca)  So I assume that if I knit the larger I can get it down to size. 

I thought I remembered that not too long ago people were looking for NeedleMaster sets. Knitpicks.com is selling their remaining sets at 50% off--$39.99. I suppose now that they have their Options line of needles, they're looking to unload their stock of NeedleMaster. It's a pretty good deal for anyone in the market for a set.
