OK, I'm a female, but I truly want to promote men's knitting. I have a sixteen year old son and I think he would get a great deal out of knitting but I certainly can't be the one to "inspire" him. I only know one guy who knits and he is WAY cool.

Hi,
I am a new knitter, finnally got my wife to teach me last week. I am knitting a scarf out of some organic cotton yarn called "Inca Cotton" It's really nice, kind of a beige color which is the natural plant color. I've been knitting it for a few days and have only got about 18", then I grabbed some other yarn to see if I still remember how to cast on and I couldn't remember how. I was great at casting on a few days ago! Oh well my wife will refresh me. Anyway thats my introduction.

A friend just called and told me he was crocheting!! He is coming to visit for Thanksgiving and wants me to show him how to knit. This is very exciting as I am hoping it will be something he grows to like and it will keep his hands busy instead of holding cigarettes!! When I talked to him he was excited that he was actually able to create something. I told him that is part of what draws me to knitting is that I MADE IT!! I doubt I will ever become the knitter some of you other posters are but the fact that I am able to make something that is not only attractive but useful is hugely satisying.
Hello,
I have recently felted a wool bag. As it is drying, I am wondering if I can shave it using the electric clippers I use to shave my head. Has anyone tried this? If so, how did it turn out?

Hey boys,
I am making plans to attend the Madrona Fiber Arts Festival in Feb this coming year, in Tacoma, WA. Has anyone ever been??? A friend of mine lives in Gig Habor, WA and invited me to attend with her. I am sooooo excited, but would love to hear from anyone who has heard of it and/or attended. From what I have read and heard they have fiber vendors and classes on everything from spinning to knitting and BEYOND! So...let me hear from you.
Always knit for fun!!!!
