I am livid. Working on a new sweater, one that I wanted to do several years ago. The first time, I bought the yarn and they were two different shades, but I'd already knitted up the back and front when I saw it in a different light to my shock and dismay. Fast forward to today, I am trying to do the same sweater and I've never made so many mistakes in my life.

So, I have not been knitting much these days. I pick the few projects up for a bit and am just not into them so they promptly get put back down. I get irritated with myself when I get in this state and work at fighting off the startitis that starts to edge in.

I like to teach. One of the best ways for me to learn something is to teach it; otherwise, I find it difficult to buckle down and do the homework. So when a LYS owner asked if I'd be interested in teaching "knit to fit," I decided it is time I tackle the elusive concept of fitting a sweater.

Hello Gentlemen;
I enjoy the challenge of knitting lace. I much much prefer to do it from charts. I find written instruction not to be my thing. I also love many of the lace patterns collected by Barabara Walker, especially in her first two collections. Does anyone know if there is a collection of these patterns that have been charted -- a book, a site, a group, a DVD?

Starting a vest (Rowan Harrison vest). Already stumped...grrr...it says:

"beg with a K row work in st st. shaping sides by inc 1 st at each end of 15th row, then on 3 foll 14th rows."

Does this mean at the 15th knit row I increase by one at the beginning of the row and end of the row then for every 14th row I do the same thing three times more?

At the 3:34 mark you can see the forest where I hike in the upper right-hand corner of the frame in the video below. So many houses are still underwater. It's never been this bad here. Thankfully, we are dry. I just thought I'd share. So sad.

Hey guys I got some metallic yarn at discount place. Its really neat. Simmers like diamonds. I have one in a dark black and one in light colour. The other is more copper, not much sparkle. I have been brain storming what to do with them. I thought the black would make a great net wrap. However its rather ruff (even for my my mans skin) I would be great for a art piece as well.

I haven't posted anything for a while, but I finished something and it's the first thing that I actually followed a pattern to do recently. I started it before Christmas with the intention to gift it, but I wore thin and put it away and cringed every time I saw it. I felt like a criminal neglecting it. Well I finally picked it up 2 weeks ago and thought that I'd share it with the community.

Okay, gonna take the plunge and try knitting some socks! I'm asking for input as to yarns, needles, patterns and heels techniques. Oh, and dpns, or magic loop?

There are projects that require a certain level of focus above and beyond “normal” knitting. Beginning those projects is always easy. The excitement of choosing the intricate pattern and finding the perfect yarn carry over in to the first stitch. The project always moves along quickly for a while, but then, life tends to creep in.
