Friends, I am in the process of knitting a neckdown pullover sweater for the first time. It is with circular needles and I have come to the point of having to cast on another skein of yarn. In the past I have used the braided method of adding new yarn. I am a little leery of using this method for a sweater.
It is amazing how difficult it is to learn a new skill. With this pair of ankle socks, I was bound and determined to conquer the Wrap and Turn stitches in the heel. The first sock was ripped out several times, not because I hadn't learned to do the W&T but because I let my concentration wander and made silly little mistakes.
I'm trying to knit the Brethren Sock that so many on here have made. But I've done something wrong. Would any of the guys who have completed these successfully be able to help please/????? I'm using magic loop.
I've picked up the gusset stitches. And the stitches for the instep are not centered. There's thirty-eight stitches on the instep needle, and fifty-two on the wire.
My LYS is bring Norah Gaughan to Vermont for the weekend of September
2014. I guess they had a couple of last minute cancellations. She is probably
one of my favorite knitters and I've knitted a few of her items. I'm trying
to attend but I need to move one thing so not sure if I'll make it. I thought
I can't remember where I found out about this Web site, but I have found it very interesting. If it was shared here on this site, pardon the duplicate posting.
Here is a quote from their homepage that explains their goal.
I've finally started The Brethren Sock....it's not as scary as I though.
Thanks ilhiker for your help.
Thanks Crafty Andy for your inspiration.
Well, I've spent almost all of my summer on this one sock, which for various reasons-the FIFA World Cup being a distracting culprit-has been done and redone many times.
Hello gents. I am currently finishing up a project which I'll post more about in a few days. In the meantime, I took some pictures of the in-progress item which looks so weird that I had to share it. Any guesses on what it is I'm making?
