Paralympic Gold Medal

About an hour ago, one of my former students from two years ago visited me at school. He is on the USA Paralympic Hockey team and just got back from Sochi, Russia. We had parent-teacher conferences tonight and he brought his gold medal over for me to see. I was so touched and honored that he would do that. I had fun holding and wearing the medal and posing with him.

Hello

Hi hope every one is doing well haven't posted in a while and thought I would add some pictures of what I've been up to lately. Some are projects from last winter and the socks are the newest project. It's a mix of Knitting, Crochet and some Tunisian Crochet.

OT Spring Pics

I offered a few spring pics recently. Unfortunately it has been overcast for several days. Here is a splash of color (if you like yellow).

Yellow Jasmine from my work, I eat lunch under it almost daily.

Iris blooming, spring can't be far off now.

Daffodil beginning to fade.

Enjoy

For Sara Katsan

Here is the Faggot Diamond Pattern from Mary Thomas's Book of Knitting Patterns (1943).

Is this close to what you are looking for? I think your sample has chain/traveling stitches that may cross differently at the top of the diamond but it is definitely close.

what do you call this type of patter? any clues ?

Hi guys,

Its been a long time since I knit! and I need to do this project to make some sleeves for a costume. This, or something similar is what I want, but I am feeling dumb that I can't figure it out. Any one know what this, or some similar patter, is?

Any help is appreciated.

A different provisional cast on method

Hello Gents! I am currently working on a project that requires a provisional cast on (PCO). I haven't knit a lot of items that use a PCO, but when I have I've used the crochet chain method. This works pretty well and has the nice feature of a sturdy and easily unraveled PCO edge.

Blizzard

Well guys, they are called for blizzard conditions here in the Western Fingerlakes area of New York State. Accumulations between eighteen and twenty inches of snow. At least here in Waterloo New York. I'll be staying in and finishing up a cardigan, and starting some Brethren socks in red yarn. I have all that I need.....chocolate. Terry

Finished hat.

I finished the hat last night and worked in the ends so that it is reversible. I'm very pleased with how it knit up and it serves to keep the Wyoming wind off my head.

The first sock was finished last week and 10 rounds of ribbing are knit on the second. The colorway is more impressive in the skein but the final results are nice enough that a trip to the frog pond isn't necessary.
