Cary Grant Learning to Knit in "Mister Lucky"

I'm sitting here joining panels on my Hollywood knit project. As usual, Turner Classic Movies is on TV, and this morning is "Mr. Lucky" starring Cary Grant and Laraine Day (1943). Cary has joined a women's auxiliary that raises funds for the war effort, mostly to get closer to Laraine.

She asks him what he can contribute to the war effort -- he's a gambler, and winning and losing money is about all he knows; she asks if he can knit. He can't, is kind of resistant to learning, but she sends him to Mrs. Van Every (played by character actress Florence Bates), their best knitting instructor for his first lesson.

Here's a link to the film clip on You Tube. I thought you might get a kick out of it! (I think the sound goes out for a few seconds, but be patient. It's back before the lesson begins).
